White Chocolate Protein Crispies

No-bake recipe

As a little girl, one of my favourite treats were chocolate covered rice crispy crunchies. My mum used to make them for my siblings and I on the weekends. She made them with either rice crispies or cornflakes, both tastes amazing. They were always so quick to make and tasted like heaven in a crunchy chocolatey form.

This week I've finally rejoined a gym after 6 months! Before lockdown, the gym was my happy place and I would train at least 4 times per week. Its a fact that when regularly weight training it is important to have a decent protein intake in your diet. Protein helps repair and rebuild torn muscles damaged while training. Protein comes in many different foods, I personally like to get my protein from natural sources like chicken or eggs but do top it up with the occasional protein bar or shake.

Protein bars are a favourite post-workout treat for me, let's face it most protein bars taste absolutely delicious! I would go through phases of being obsessed with certain brands and flavours but particularly fell in love with the PHD white chocolate blondie smart bar. It tastes exactly like a delicious chocolate bar but has 21g of protein in it!

This was my inspiration when creating my white chocolate protein crispy rings.

My recipe is super easy to make and stays good to eat for up to 5 days!

For this recipe you will need:

  • Doughnut moulds

  • Microwave safe bowl (for melting the chocolate)

These protein crunchies will definitely sort your sweet cravings out! They are perfect to take with you on the go or to enjoy post-workout!

If you are a real sucker for chocolate like me then you can drizzle on some extra chocolate when the doughnuts have come out the freezer and eat them then and there or refreeze for an extra half an hour.
